There is nothing more refreshing than originally produced, high quality, independent music. djinnman gives us just that. It's as if a lemon burst in the air and popped out lush, cool sounds over our heads. Bright and chill, listening to djinnman is like a brisk winter's walk through the park with your favorite tunes, djinnman's tunes.
Highly synthesized, well crafted songs make djinnman's music the perfect combination of pop and experimental. djinnman is forging a bold new path in indie pop, dark pop and electronic based songwriting. djinnman's sound can be described as somewhere between Boards of Canada, Jonsi (from Sigur Ros) and Passion Pit, yet djinnman is as punk to pop as old school punk was to rock. Very rarely is there an artist as equally a combination of edgy and refined as djinnman.
During the early 2000s, djinnman studied music composition at the IU Jacob's School of Music and began to record and make electronic music at home. Affordable high quality home mixing and recording was just at that time becoming a realizable possibility. However, in response to djinnman's working from home, the school issued a notice that no composers at the college were allowed to make electronic music unsupervised from the electronic music lab. djinnman realized that this would hinder his growth as a musician and so he defied his professors and continued to make music at home without supervision. He continued to learn how to mix and record despite the opposition he faced from the administration. Eventually, djinnman was pushed out of the college by such politics, but was able to transfer to an experimental school in the Swiss Alps where djinnman studied under DJ Spooky that Subliminal Kid. This gave him the freedom to continue to learn and work independently without being stifled by administrative headaches.
djinnman is now working to bring a new single to market. djinnman's first single, "I Don't Give a Fuck" was selected to be included in the motion picture release, "The Overseer". djinnman's next single release, due out in June of 2016, "Cold" indicates a strong and consistent showing of djinnman's prowess as a producer and songwriter.
djinnman's goal is to destroy the top 40 and usher in a new era of well crafted artistic expression into mainstream media and contemporary thought.
